Mind The Mushroom,
Find The Mushroom.
The Mushroom Origin Story
At our Community Inclusion Garden located at the front of our day center Club Kalina in Tuggeranong, we had three of our large mushroom decorations stolen!
We then posted on the Community Home Australia Facebook page asking the community to assist in their safe return.
By the end of the day, we were happily reunited with our mushrooms but not before hearing about their fantastic travels to Pine Island. This got us thinking—if Canberrans loved our mushrooms so much, we would give the people what they wanted!
How to play
You can now stumble upon the mushroom out in the wild and scan the QR code on it to be taken to the Facebook group, then you can post a photo of your find before relocating it for someone else to stumble across!
Join in the search to show your support for those living with younger onset dementia and their loved ones.
By rallying the Canberra community to join in the search, we are dismantling the stigma that people with younger onset dementia should be hidden away from the community in nursing homes which they rarely leave.
Spreading this message through minding and moving the mushroom allows for younger onset dementia to become more normalized within our community!
